An extension of purely geometric shades, the Spider & Web shade has irregularities which are carefully designed to convey the idea of a spider in his web. Unlike other geometric shades the lower border of each panel is not straight but curves to such an extent that the panel measures 1/2" longer at its middle than at its side. A friendly garden variety spider could be depicted using varying shades of green glass at the top fading into golden-orange midway down the shade. A diffusely mottled glass will create the illusion of the sun glittering through gossamer threads of the web. Worden s G13-3 Spider & Web shade is a composite reproduction of original Tiffany lamps as pictured in Dr. Neustadt s book "The Lamps of Tiffany" page 73. Artistic license has been exercised in comparing this shade with normal spiders for, of course, spiders have eight legs.
